Forest bathing is one of the possible ways of walking and hiking, during which you consciously spend time in nature, paying attention to your physical senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste) and letting your body feel and sense the surrounding nature.
Spending time in nature reduces stress, lifts your mood and invigorates your mind
-
We will walk together in the forests around Nõmmeveski, calmly and consciously noticing our surroundings. During the hike, the tour guide will direct the hikers to pay attention to different senses and give the hikers time to relax and perceive their surroundings (for instance, everyone finds a place to sit for 5 minutes and pays attention to 5 distinctive natural objects). In total the hike will be approximately 1 hour.
After the forest bathing, everyone can share their experiences, followed by a peaceful tea ceremony on the limestone slab near the Nõmmeveski waterfall in nice and warm weather, or at the nearby campfire/picnic area in cooler weather.
-
In summer, when the weather is nice, warm and dry, the tea ceremony is held on a limestone slab in the middle of the Valgejõgi River, sitting on semi-circular seating. Before serving the tea, a container of water is brought from a nearby spring, which is boiled on a primumus at the beginning of the tea ceremony. The first servings are held in silence, listening to the sound of the surrounding river, later you can share your experiences.
PS! To get to the limestone slab, you must go barefoot, because to get there you need to go through water. The water is a maximum of 30 cm deep, a tour guide is on site to help you get to the stone.
In spring, autumn (and in summer in unsuitable weather) the tea ceremony takes place under a roofed shelter at a picnic area near the waterfall.
